Today as Africans, we find ourselves living in different parts of the of the world , and each one of us has our own story that tells the reasons for moving.

Our narrative seeks to address different African Communities such as economic migrants as well as socio-economic entrepreneurs.

Despite the differences between past and present movements and settlements, Canterbury African Communities seeks to create opportunities to promote economic prosperity. Our priority is the future education of children, youth and adults to participate and commit to a visionary future of new doors of opportunity rooted in the economic, social and political space.

Our New Zealand-based community members have achieved amazing success in their chosen careers thanks to their sincere dedication and hard work. Moreover, they have retained their emotional cultural and spiritual ties to their country of origin.

Thanks to technology, it has become much easier for African Communities in Canterbury to communicate with others, and the internet has made staying connected less expensive. Indeed, the proliferation of diaspora-related websites attests to the strength of common interests and identity.
